This Orientation is only For Members Who Have ALREADY been checked out to use the small lathe.
For the wood lathes we are transitioning to a fob-activated lockout system from the current padlock setup.
This will require all lathe room users to attend one of several brief, on-site sessions, to have their fobs activated for unlocking the lathes.
During these sessions, members of the Leadership Team will provide a brief orientation to the features of the new lathe that differ from other lathes at TCM.
Following this orientation and fob activation, lathe room users will be free to use the new lathe.
At present, only the new lathe is secured by the fob lockbox—the smaller lathe remains under padlock control. On January 1, 2024 both lathes will be moving under fob control
