Intro to the Planer

The thickness planer is an essential machine when working with solid wood.  With it you make a board smooth and of uniform thickness.  You can also use this machine to remove warp and wind using a sled in place of a jointer/planer machine.  I will explain the inner workings of this machine, how to use it correctly and how to deal with common issues in use.

Items to Bring

Wear clothes you can get dusty, no loose sleeves or anything other loose clothing or jewellery.  Long hair must be tied back.  If you have your own eye and hearing protection, bring it - but we will have some available in the shop.
