Lapidary 101 is an introductory course that will familiarize you to the lapidary equipment and techniques for working with stones.

Class Description

This is a beginner-friendly course that will familiarize you to the tools and techniques you can use in the lapidary studio. This is a skills-focused course to get you comfortable with each of the tools available in the space to comfortably progress to your next piece.

Experience Level

No experience required.

Tools Covered

You will learn skills with the slabbing saw, band saw, drill press, cabochon grinding wheel, and the grinding/polishing wheel system. You will also be skilled in using templates to create specifically shaped pieces that can later be used in jewelry settings.

What to Bring

Safety Glasses, hearing protection, and an apron are recommended.
