Bandsaw Boxes

Bandsaw Boxes are a way of creating a box out of a solid chunk of wood (or laminated pieces of wood) using only a Bandsaw to make the cuts.

Being that the bandsaw is able to make curved cuts, this gives the woodworker a lot of flexibility and artistic license to make the box into any shape they see fit.

Bandsaw Boxes, whether you decide to go whimsical or practical,  are a fun way to use up those scraps and smaller cutoffs you may have laying around.

In this demo, you will learn the steps to create a bandsaw box.  No hands on Experience or Practice will be received during the demo.

About the Instructor

Jon Alt is a self-taught wood worker who especially enjoys making craftsman and mid-century modern furniture.  Outside of making furniture, Jon likes to explore multiple styles of woodworking by creating smaller items such as clocks and keep sake boxes.

For over 8 years, Jon volunteered as Twin Cities Maker's Wood Shop Manager.  Through this experience he has held countless hours of instruction both on a one on one basis and classes covering everything from basics of wood shop machine maintenance to various techniques in wood working.
