Maker to Teacher

Professional Development Workshop

Are you a maker who is curious about teaching at Twin Cities Maker but have never taught a class before? Or maybe you've been teaching for some time and want to improve your craft. Either way, you have come to the right place!

What You Will Learn

This is the first in a teaching workshop series. During this time, we will discuss:

  • Best practices in maker education.
  • Crowdsource from the wealth of prior knowledge in a room full of makers and teachers.
  • When lecture-based vs hand-on teaching approaches are most appropriate.
  • Teaching techniques to include and those to avoid to create the best experience for your students
  • Crowdsource what would be the most valuable from the future of this series to you, our teachers.
  • Discuss among a community of teachers any burning questions you may have about classes you have taught or would like to teach.

What to Bring

Your questions about teaching.

A curious open mind.

You! We hope to see you there.
